Established in 1989 by Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith, Shaw and Smith aim is to make contemporary, high quality wines that stand amongst the best of their type in Australia. The wines are made exclusively from fruit grown in the Adelaide Hills, one of Australias coolest and most exciting regions. Shaw and Smith specialise in grape varieties suited to the cooler climate, such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

A medium bodied cool-climate Shiraz, in which balance is more important than power.
This 2010 has notes of blueberry and mulberry on the nose, and a palate that also shows dry spice (fennel seed), some earthy notes and which has plenty of ripe, round tannins that are initially overwhelmed by the fruit but which become more apparent and assertive on the finish.
