This 12 bottle case is all about the reds. If you’re not a fan of white wine then this is the case for you. 12 quality reds from all corners of the globe. This case contains:
2 x Estampado Bonarda Cabernet 2019 – Mendoza, Argentina
A smooth red blend with a label inspired by the strong graphic patterns of Argentine gaucho costumes. This gorgeous blend has been crafted from carefully selected Mendoza Valley grapes to make a smooth, full-bodied red wine. This is a versatile red that pairs well with pizzas, pasta dishes and any grilled meats.
2 x Peculiar Mr Pat Merlot 2019 – South Eastern Australia
The story of a most particular wombat…Orphaned, beaten up by his wild wombat mates, taken in by Ballarat Wildlife Park, wheelbarrowed around (for weight reasons), adored the world over. Bright, plush, deeply tasty Merlot from Riverland vineyards close to the Murray River, this is abundant in freshly picked red fruits, soft tannins and a long, moreish finish.
2 x Percheron Shiraz Mourvèdre 2020 – Western Cape South Africa
Award-winning and hugely successful southern Rhône style red from Swartland goes from strength to strength! Co-fermented Shiraz and Viognier do their thing whilst waiting for the later Mourvèdre to create this threesome. The sandy nose suggests summer fruits and crushed raspberries with notes of aromatic spice and a latent creaminess. Ripe, juicy on the palate which is at once vibrant and dark. A great partner to rich and savoury red meat dishes such as salt-marsh lamb, or a gutsy bean casserole.
2 x Arc du Rhône Cotes du Rhône Villages – Rhône Valley, France
Arc du Rhône is named after the classified group of villages which together line up to form a geographical arc across the valley of the southern Rhône, known locally as the ‘arc of gold’. This Côtes du Rhône Villages is typically full-flavoured with brambly fruits from the Grenache Noir and savoury spice on the finish. Serve with cheese, lots of lovely cheese!
2 x Bellefontaine Malbec, Pays d’Oc 2018 – Aude, France
A fresh take on Malbec, from the Languedoc rather than the Andes. Bright blueberry fruit which develops to reveal an intriguing bitter-sweet character of blackcurrant leaf. Fine red fruits fill the palate; with raspberries and a touch of dark chocolate on the finish. Perfect with with seared beef, lamb chops, or rich chilli con carne.
2 x Araldica Barbera d’Asti ‘Ceppi Storici’ 2017 – Piemonte, Italy
Sourced from over 40-year-old vines, this Barbera d’Asti shows layer upon layer of concentrated fruit and has been part of Araldica’s portfolio for more than half a century – the first vintage being in 1954. Warm, spicy aromas of blueberries and plums, with subtle, smoky notes. The palate combines generous ripe fruit with lively acidity, with juicy cherry characters and spicy notes beneath. Soft oak tannins offer an extra dimension to the texture. A refreshing smack of fruity acidity on the finish gives plenty of definition to the ripe fruit. Great with Italian classics like pizza and pasta, but also works well with lamb shank or a beef roast.
All our mixed cases are hand-curated to order and sometimes we might get an amazing wine turning up on our shelves that we can’t quite wait to share, so occasionally we may replace one of these with something a little different, but rest assured we’ll only ever include excellent reds that will always compliment your case.
