Grenache, Syrah and Mouverdre vines grow on two steeply terraced plots of limestone, granite and schist. Herbs grow among the vines, and behind this scenic vineyard is the Dentelles de Montmirail (affectionately known as ‘lace mountain’ due to the series of ruggedly curved peaks at the top). This rich and complex wine is made by traditional vinification. 50 % of the wine has been barrel aged for 14 months in barrels of 2 and 3 years, just to give another layer to the wine and a touch of vanilla pod.
