Mount Edward Pinot Noir
Not so much a big wine as possessing power, easily one of the better estate wines to come out of Mount Edward.
Established by the Godfather of Central Otago viticulture, Alan Brady back in 1997, the winery is now co-owned by Brady, Duncan Forsyth and John Buchanan. As they themselves point out, nothing comes easy in Otago but having overcome the challenges of planting their first vineyard on a 30 degree slope (The Drumlin Vineyard) they are well used to overcoming obstacles. Fully committed to making wines in as natural a way as possible, the vineyards are managed organically and wines made with as little intervention as possible to retain purity of fruit and vibrancy of expression and detail. The wines are outstanding expressions of the purity of Central Otago fruit and silky smooth tannins coupled with a broody and savoury structure and finish.
