The Val de Monterrei is an area of interesting and unique microclimates. It is the only Galician region that lies in the basin of the river Duero. Monterrei cultivates many of the same grapes as those grown in neighbouring regions, such as Godello, Treixadura and Mencia. Pazos del Rey control 25 hectares of vineyard, situated mainly on the valley slopes. Here, the Australian Josephine Perry directs the technical team – who have dedicated themselves to teasing out the very best from these complex and exciting grape varieties.
Pazo De Monterrey Godello (2011)

A crisp, aromatic white with a lifted nose of apricot, citrus fruits and a hint of pear drops. Very fresh acidity and mineral notes balance rich, ripe fruit characters of apple and pear on the palate. There are also honeyed tones, leading to a long, clean finish.
