2 x Fauno Blanco – Valencia, Spain
Medal-winning and fantastically fruity Viura Sauvignon Blanc blend from sunny Valencia. Lifted peach aromas with lemon and floral notes. The palate is bright and fresh with stone fruit and citrus characters, and refreshing acidity on the finish.
2 x Durello Spumante Brut NV – Veneto, Italy
A lesser-known, yet great alternative to Prosecco – the sparkling wine of choice in Verona bars! Citrus and gently floral aromas lead to a very fresh and zippy palate with crisp green apple and lightly honeyed characters. A refreshing and approachable style of fizz – yet with texture and depth underlying the bright fruit.
2 x Strange Bru Fernao Pires – Western Cape, South Africa
Bright, tangy, textural with a gently fleshy thing, Fernao Pires was planted in ZA decades ago for production as brandy. Strange Bru (the weird brother in Afrikaans) celebrates the charms of a Portuguese cultivar finding its feet in a foreign field.
2 x Peculiar Mr. Pat Merlot – South Australia
Bright, plush, deeply tasty Merlot from Riverland vineyards, this is abundant in freshly picked red fruit with a soft tannic profile and a long, moreish finish.
2 x Quatro Ventos Douro – Douro Valley, Portugal
Powerful red from the fabled terraced vineyards of Quinta dos Quatro Ventos. Ripe plum, blackberry compote, hints of liquorice and warm spice on the nose, whilst the palate offers dark plum, pepper and spice, and ripe rounded tannins.
2 x El Viejo del Valle Pinot Noir – Valle Central, Chile
‘El Viejo del Valle’ or ‘The Old Man of the Valley’ celebrates the 1950s Chilean street graffiti. An exciting find from the depths of Chile. Deliciously long, bright, textural Pinot from cold, stony vineyards deep in the Central Valley’s old glacial riverbeds. Summer fruits of red currant, raspberry and wild strawberries on the nose follow through to a juicy palate. A touch of oak adds spice complexity.
